How does Scotch get the peaty taste

If you have drank scotch with me, you know I like the peat bombs.  Of them, Laphroaig is one of my favorites.  Neat, with just a splash of water (just like in the vid), never goes wrong.

Well, Modern Marvels ran an episode on distilleries….and they filmed at the Laphroaig.

Enjoy, Learn Something and pour a dram or two :)

  1. I'm not a whiskey drinker, but when we visited Scotland a few months ago, I made it a point to visit one of the distilleries. I, with my son, visited the Glen Ord distillery in an area known as the Black Isle. I was quite impressed with the process and was surprised on how eco friendly it was....very little waste. I bought a bottle of the distillery's Singleton for my Father-in-law and he opened it tonight. He enjoyed it very much. I even had a small dram myself.

I might just have to visit Laphroaig when we decide to make a return trip.

    Thanks, Ed. :)

As the only Single Malt on Black Isle, it would be worth the trip....especially since they are owned by the Guinness Conglomerate.

Laphroaig will wake you up though, so be cautious ;)

    Thanks for posting.
