Charlie Sheen–Humanitarian????

We’ve run several stories on Charlie Sheen here at Smokes and Booze (HERE, HERE and HERE are just some examples) . To me, he is an excellent actor and a great comedian. He lives a lifestyle that some of us envy and (in a world where every is Politically Correct) he says what’s on his mind. Which I like.

Today we have a different story on Charlie, but one that I think SHOULD get out and have more publicity.

Charlie Sheen the humanitarian.

Great Job Charlie. We love you.

Charlie Sheen to raise money for baseball attack victim

CSFastballSAN FRANCISCO -- Charlie Sheen will use his Saturday show in San Francisco to raise money for the Giants fan who was left in a coma after an attack outside a Giants-Dodgers game last month, the actor's rep said.

Proceeds from any merchandise sold at the actor's weekend show -- part of his six-week "Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option" tour -- will benefit the medical fund set up for assault victim Brian Stow, the rep told the Hollywood Reporter Thursday.

Stow was beaten unconscious by two men in March outside Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles after the Dodgers' Opening Day win over the Giants.

Stow's attackers were wearing Los Angeles Dodgers gear and started a fight with Stow and his friends, who were fans of the opposing Giants, police said.

No suspects have been arrested but a substantial award has been offered for information in the case.

The 42-year-old paramedic was placed in a medically-induced coma and has shown signs of brain damage.

"From the beginning, the doctors have been very honest with us," Stow's sister, Erin Collins, said in an interview earlier this month. "They've always said his chances of ever waking up out of that coma are slim. We're holding on to those slim chances."

This is not the first time the 45-year-old Sheen has used his tour to offer to raise money. He organized a last-minute walk to raise money for bipolar disease when his tour was in Toronto in April. However, the group he had promised to give the money to expressed frustration days later saying they hadn't seen any cash. Sheen's business manager later assured the group, the Organization for Bipolar Affective Disorders, the actor would make the donation.

Be Afraid

Be afraid everyone….be very very afraid.

To bad I had to sign a non-disclosure or else I could immediately prove I qualify Smile

WINNER

So far, this year has been dragging.

Obviously with economy, nobody has the kind of money we would like to buy smoke or booze…so that has been rough.

Throw in the crazy weather (leaving us snowbound and without Propane because we couldn’t get a delivery), getting thrown out of a bar during the Super Bowl (I don’t care if his niece was in the show…Halftime sucked) and now I’m heading to LA.  We needed a shift in luck.

Well, it came.

Starting with Thompson Cigar.  You might recall THIS post where I invited the readers to “Like” a comment I made on their wall.  Well, you guys didn’t disappoint, and we crushed the competition with 18 “Likes”.  Tomorrow, Simon and I will draw the lucky name for the Gift Code….but in the meantime, take a minute to thank the sponsor Thompson Cigar Company by visiting their site and making a purchase.

Thompson Cigar

All last week we had been doing good on the blog with viewers.  On average, get get between 100-125 unique hits a day.  Then came THIS story about Diosa Tequila.  Our hits went through the roof, with a total of almost 800 in one day alone.  I’ve requested samplers of the tequila for review, and I am really looking forward to see if the product is worth the hype.

So, things are really looking good going into Sunday….so I accompany Debi to go play Bingo.  I know, I know….Bingo?  She likes it, and it is at the local VFW….so I can get beer and try out my new “club” membership.  The outcome…Debi hits $120 and I hit $40.  EXCELLENT.

Going into my last work day before my trip to LA, I was thinking things couldn’t get better.  Then I check my Email.

Congratulations!  You are the winner of Four Roses: The Return of a Whiskey Legend at Tribute Books Reviews and Giveaways.

Tribute Books has giveaways if you spread the word for them.  You should check out their site and sign up.  HERE was my original tweet.

Sweet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, I went out and checked my mail….lo and behold, I received a sampler box from JD CIgars of their Temptation Line.  I have died and gone to heaven.  I’ve been waiting for these for awhile and I am looking forward to them kicking off sales.

Overall, things are starting to look up……and I want to personally thank all the Sponsors, Contest Holders and my wife for turning this year around.

As Charlie Sheen would say WINNER

Cheers

Tiger’s Blood Cocktail

While watching Charlie Sheen on Ustream (HERE) I started searching for Tiger’s Blood.

<Ed Note- Love the Reds Shirt Charlie>

Here is the best recipe I have found so far-

Directions for your own Tiger Blood cocktail:

  • 3 oz. tomato juice
  • 1.5 oz. Sake
  • pinch of wasabi
  • dash of soy sauce
  • squeeze of lime

Shake ingredients hard over ice. Garnish with celery stalk, and begin winning

Personally, I like this way better than the P-Diddy concoction of Ciroc Redberry and Cranberry Juice (LAME).  This has nothing to do with my previous thoughts on “Mr Diddy” and his crappy vodka….well, maybe it does.  But it’s my blog and I can choose sides as I want.

Your Weekly Charlie Sheen

We love Charlie here at S&B and I truly do wish him well.  He brings us so much entertainment and joy….I hope he keeps sticking it to CBS.

Since we are a blog about Smoking and Alcohol, I thought two things were particularly relevant to this crowd-

First, if you happen to be a guest at Charlie’s while he is doing his WebShow, you are offered Candy and Cigarettes….what Charlie, no cigars? <J/K, I think it is awesome>

Charlie

Secondly, we have Charlie with a Machete and drinking Tiger’s blood.  As long as he is not involved in the Asiansnakewine Fraud….I love it.

More on Charlie

I just can’t get enough of Charlie Sheer…..call me a sadist.

I love how much he smokes during this interview too.  I honestly believe that what you see is what you get with Charlie (vs the “I’ve got to protect my image” from most in Hollywood.

I wish him luck in his case…..

Charlie Sheen vs David Arquette

  VS

Two celebrities are in the news here lately, David Arquette and Charlie Sheen.  Both are Hollywood Bad Boys….so I wondered which one would make a better spokesperson (as if I could ever afford an endorsement from either) for Smokes and Booze.

Let the contest begin

Acting Career -

  • David Arquette-  Sharkboy and Lava Girl, Dirt Squirrel, It’s a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, Buffy the Vampire Slayer and The Outsiders (TV Series in 1990).
  • Charlie Sheen- Three and a Half Men (Now canceled), Being John Malkovich, All Dogs go to Heaven 2, Three Musketeers, Hot Shots, Part Deux, Men at Work, Navy Seals, Major League Series, Wall Street, Platoon, Ferris Buellers Day Off, Red Dawn
  • Both were in episodes of Friends and the Scream Series.

Winner- Charlie Sheen

Women -

Winner – Charlie Sheen

Vices -

  • David Arquette-  Checked into rehab for treatment of "alcohol and other issues" on January 1, 2011, shortly after celebrating New Year's Eve
  • Charlie Sheen – Do I really even need to go there??????

Winner – Charlie Sheen

Kookiness-

  • David Arquette – Was a former  WCW Champion and appears on Howard Stern Drunk and Oprah Sober (isn’t that backwards?)
  • Charlie Sheen – To many to list, so we will just go with his latest tirade (my favorite is where he talks about AA, transcripts HERE).

Winner – Charlie Sheen

Overall, it’s pretty clear that Charlie would make a great Spokesperson.  If anyone out there knows him, I would love to do an interview.  He had me at WOLVERINES, but sustained me with Charlie Waffles.

And to David Arquette……who cares that you had your first beer at 4?  I beat that by 2 year and have photo proof.  Take responsibility for your actions and Man Up.  Look at Charlie, you don’t see him whining about loosing THE BEST SHOW and all those women in his life do you?  We all know you want to get back with Courtney (why I do not know), so go begging back and get out of the news….or go whole hog and use Charlie as a Role model.

Cheers

Rothlesburger or Charlie Sheen

Ok, the Superbowl is kinda Ho-Hum for me this year.  I really don’t care about either team, and I am tired of the Budweiser “Pre-Superbowl” commercials already.  Throw in there that I will be in KC and away from the Fam (no offence Simon and Randy) and really….what’s to look forward to (besides the Cpt America commercial)?

At least there is TMZ with two good videos to make me wonder – What is more interesting, the Superbowl or the Charlie Sheen trainwreck?

CRAP – TMZ has now taken down the ability to embed either video, but I can link to them…so here we go -

Charlie Sheen’s Drunk Bender

Ben Rothlesburger dunk 5 days before the Superbowl and sing PIANO MAN?

So, you tell me….which is more interesting.  My vote is Charlie Sheen.  He’s funnier, richer and get’s better looking women.

Thoughts?

If you are Charlie Sheen….who is your wingman?

Why Ron Jeremy of course

All joking aside, it’s great to hear Charlie can go out and have fun……staying sober if he chooses.  That being said, get back on the bus Charlie…I miss the headlines.
